Bansko is Bulgaria's N1 ski resort. It has excellent snow conditions from December untill May. The ski runs are located in two main ski centres, which are easily accessible by the new 8-seat Gondola lift. In addition, there are six more lifts, 17 drags and a fun park made especially for the snowboard lovers.
During the last couple of years the resort is under a massive investment process with new hotels and resort facilities being under construction.
The town itself attracts visitors by its 120 cultural monuments, its museum – houses and the per-manent ethnographic exhibition. The old times' atmosphere of the houses, built during the 19th century, the narrow streets with cafeteria and small shops immerse the tourists into the past of the town. The traditional cuisine of Bansko is widely known and liked in Bulgaria.
Pirin is the second highest and arguably the most beautiful Bulgarian mountain. It is a national preserve, included in the World Natural Heritage list.
